Who is Jesus: Made in the Image of God

Series: Who is Jesus # 5
Theme: Jesus is the Creator
Lesson number 1 of 4
Lesson Title: Made in the Image of God
Memory Verse:Gen.1:17; And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

Lesson Plan: Made in God’s Image (pdf format)

The Bible says that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. He then filled it with all kinds of wonderful things. Then God made MAN. (ADAM)
Gen.2:7; Then the Lord God formed Man of dust from the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.
Gen. 1:31; And God saw all that He had made, and behold it was very good.
The man that God created must have been very intelligent, creative and capable. God put man in charge of everything He had made, and because man was like God, he was creative like God. The Bible says that God brought all the animals to man to “See” what he would name them. So man gave names to all the animals and birds and creatures that God had made.
How would you like to be given that job?
You are made to be like God. Did you know that you are unique? People around you are different from you because that is how God made them. They are unique too. There is no one else exactly like you. Even identical twins are not exactly the same. It is O.K. to be different. God made you with your own special set of talents and abilities. These are God’s gift to you to see what you will do with them. You have been given the ability to choose what you will do with what God has given you. God wants you to use your abilities in a way that will please Him.
What are some of your special abilities? What do you like to do?
Think about how you might use your abilities in a way that would please God.
How should you treat someone who is different from you?
How can you celebrate your differences?

      Thank you for your comments.
I do not have lessons based on any specific church curriculum.
Most of the lesson material I have prepared has been to teach Bible content and how it applies to our lives.
My desire is to share that which God has given me with the intent that the next generation may know Him.
May God bless you and those you teach!
      ANN
