When Jesus went up into heaven, He promised His followers to send the Holy Spirit to be with them and in them. The Holy Spirit is the very power of God that gave Jesus the power to do miracles. Ten days later the disciples received this gift and it was a life transforming gift. The disciples were now able to do the same miracles that Jesus did. But the disciples knew that they could not do these things in their own power. Every miracle they did was in the Name of Jesus.
Jesus has given us His Holy Spirit as well and He has given us His name, the name of Jesus. When we pray, when we ask for special miracles to happen in our lives or in the lives of those we pray for, we pray in the Name of Jesus. It is not our power but the power He has given that will do miracles for us.
